ENTRY SYSTEM FOR SFVA YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOWS NOW OPEN

      THIS IS THE OFFICIAL NOMINATION AND ENTRY SYSTEM FOR THE 2026 STATE FAIR OF VIRGINIA YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOWS HELD OCTOBER 1st - 4th, 2026. THIS SYSTEM COLLECTS NOMINATIONS AND ENTRIES FOR:

      YOUTH BEEF CATTLE

      YOUTH MEAT GOATS

      YOUTH SHEEP

      YOUTH SWINE

      The Nomination Process using Animal ID began on May 15th and closed on July 1st - NO ADDITIONAL ANIMALS REQUIRING NOMINATION CAN BE ADDED DURING THE ENTRY PROCESS. The System for NOMINATIONS (not entries) IS NOW CLOSED for those animals that require nomination - ALL Market Beef, Commercial/Crossbred Heifers, Market Lambs, Commercial Ewes, Market Goats, Commercial Does, ALL Market Hogs, and Commercial/Crossbred Breeding Gilts.

      The System is now open for ENTRIES for ALL youth livestock - this includes all animals that were previously nominated, as well as all Registered Breeding Livestock.

      • NOMINATED ANIMALS MUST ALSO BE ENTERED, ASSESSED ENTRY FEES AND THOSE ENTRY FEE PAID AS DIRECTED IN THIS SYSTEM. THE ENTRY SYSTEM OPENS ON JULY 20TH AND CLOSES ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 27TH AT 11:59 pm. ONCE THE ENTRY SYSTEM HAS CLOSED, IT WILL NOT REOPEN AND ENTRIES NOT SUBMITTED BY THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

      During the ENTRY PROCESS, your entry fees will be assessed, orders for extra exhibitor passes collected, t-shirt size(s) submitted and an invoice generated that indicates your payment due for entry fees.

      PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION. IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING THE ENTRY PROCESS AND INFORMATION YOU WILL NEED IN HAND TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE YOUR ENTRIES ARE OUTLINED BELOW.

      Read the RULES prior to entering the system and completing the Entry requirements. NOT reading the rules is not a valid excuse for NOT complying with the rules or understanding the Entry Process. There are a number of rule changes for 2026 - take note of those to make certain you understand and are in compliance.

      SCHEDULE: Please read and Review the SCHEDULE so you are aware of what shows when, arrival and dismissal times, and can prepare accordingly.

      ENTRY FEES:

      Entry Fees for the 2026 State Fair of VA Youth Livestock Shows are $25.00/class with the exception of the Costume and Leadline Classes which are $15.00/class. The entry system will automatically close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 27th - no additional entries will be accepted after the system closes.

      SHOWMANSHIP, SKILLATHON, AND PREMIER EXHIBITOR: There are no entry fees for Showmanship, Skillathon, and Premier Exhibitor. Additionally, you will NOT find an entry option for these classes in the Entry System. All exhibitors are automatically entered in Showmanship for the species they enter based on their date of birth - they will scratch at SFVA Check-in if they choose not to participate in Showmanship. All exhibitors are automatically entered in the species-specific Skillathon for every species they enter - they simply need to show up while the Skillathon is open and complete the requirements.

      UNDERSTANDING THE ENTRY SYSTEM: PRIOR TO WORKING ON ENTRIES, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON HAND TO SIMPLIFY YOUR PROCESS:

      • Nominated Animals (those previously nominated and approved):
        • For Beef Cattle (Market Beef and Commercial/Crossbred Heifers) - After selecting Department, Division, and Class you will "Add an Animal" and choose "Add an Existing Animal". This will present you with all nominated/approved Beef Cattle. Select the correct one for the Division and Class and provide any additional information.
        • For All Other Nominated Animals (Market Goats/Commercial Does, Market Lambs/Commercial Ewes, Market Hogs and Crossbred Breeding Gilts) - After selecting Department, Division, and Class you will "Add an Animal" and can either "Add an Existing Animal" and see the list of nominated/approved animals for that specific division and class OR choose "I will specify animal information later" and choose the number of animals you are entering for that specific class from the dropdown menu.
        • ***Selecting "Add an existing animal" will speed up your weigh card pick up during State Fair Check-in
        • Please remember that only animals previously nominated and approved are eligible to be shown.
        • Should you utilize the "Add an Existing Animal" option during entry and need to substitute another previously nominated and approved animal from your "Nominated Animals" list at the State Fair Check-in, you will be able to do so, provided the substitute was nominated, approved, and appears on your list of eligible animals.
        • ***If you nominated animals, please use the same account and log-in information that you used to nominate your animals. If you do not, then you will not see your nominated animals as options to select from and enter.

      • Registered Breeding Animals, Registered Market Beef, and Registered Market Hogs
        • RFID Tag Numbers, Registration Numbers, Tattoo or Ear Notch Information and REGISTERED name or ID will be required for all Registered Heifers, Registered Bred and Owned Bulls, Registered Market Beef, Registered Breeding Does, Registered Breeding Ewes, Registered Market Hogs, and Registered Breeding Gilts.
        • You will be REQUIRED to upload a copy of the Registration Certificate that clearly shows an ownership date of July 1, 2026 or EARLIER for all of the above, including registered market animals.
        • Every Registered Animal must be registered in the name of the exhibitor no later than July 1, 2026 no exceptions.
        • After selecting the Department, Division, and Class you will choose "Add an Animal" and select "Add a New Animal". This will present you with the required fields of information for that animal.

          ALL ENTRIES FOR ALL CHILDREN IN THE FAMILY OR ON THE SAME ACCOUNT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE HITTING "SUBMIT". ONCE YOU SUBMIT, THE ACCOUNT IS LOCKED UNTIL ENTRIES ARE APPROVED OR REJECTED.

      IMPORTANT LOG-IN INFORMATION: ALL 4-H youth must use the GREEN "Sign-In with 4HOnline" button to access the entry system. Please check with your local 4-H Agent to make sure you/your child are enrolled and approved in the 4HOnline system prior to beginning the entry process. You will need your 4HOnline log-in credentials - if you do not know which email you used or are not familiar with 4HOnline, please contact your local 4-H Agent or Extension Office PRIOR to beginning this process.

      All youth entering as an FFA member will use the open Email/Password boxes and BLUE "Sign-In" button to access the entry system. Failure to follow these directions will result in your entries being rejected and the need to resubmit.
