  • We will follow the New York State 4-H Equine Show Rulebook.
  • 4-H horse shows are conducted by 4-H volunteers and parents for the benefit of 4-H members. Therefore, without your help, and that of the other parents and supporters, the shows will not happen. Please be sure to register yourself, and/or other adults who will be attending with you/your child, to volunteer by responding to the question on the registration. When the volunteer arrives at the show, please check in and sign up for a position.
  • A registration is not complete until each 4-H member has answered the volunteer question, selected classes, uploaded information about their animal(s) and uploaded a 4-H horse certificate, risk/permission form, medical release form, proof of rabies and negative Coggins report forms (for each horse). 4-H members must also submit a risk/permission form and medical release form specific to horse shows. All 4-H horse exhibitors in New York State are required to have a satisfactory riding level evaluation on file at the County 4-H office prior to their first 4-H show of the season. If you wish to change levels from last year, you need a new evaluation.
  • All youth planning to compete at the pointed shows and at the Wayne County Fair must be enrolled in 4-H. Deadline for enrollment in Wayne County 4-H was April 1, 2019, no exceptions! If you are an enrolled 4-H member in a county other than Wayne, you must have your county educator contact the Wayne County 4-H office to verify current 4-H membership.
  • Points from participation in the June and July shows will determine State Fair participation for Wayne County 4-H members. If you are not a Wayne County 4-H member, please contact your local 4-H office to inquire about using points from Wayne County shows.
  • Ages as of January 1 of the current year: Cloverbud: 5-7, Novice: first year, 8-over, Junior: 8-under 14, Senior: 14-over. Important information for Cloverbuds can be found here:http://4h.ansci.cornell.edu/animal-programs/horses/cloverbuds/
  • Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner (if needed), are available on the grounds. All proceeds benefit the Wayne County 4-H Horse Program.
  • If you also plan to show at the Wayne County Fair (Wayne County 4-H members only), you will need to submit your project record with that entry - fair entries (in the fair entry link) due July 17th.
