Welcome to McLeod County 4-H's Project Showcase Registration!

Registration for 2020 will open June 15th. At that time, you will have access to your family’s registrations any time you want, using your 4HOnline username and password. Here are some key points from the New This Year! page:

  • 4-H’ers may exhibit up to six projects per area as in the past with an unlimited number of total entries.

  • 4-H’ers may choose two static projects to complete one-on-one virtual Zoom conference judging. All other projects will be judging based on the answered questions and pictures submitted in Fair Entry at time of registration.

    • Why did you choose to do this project?
    • What did you learn by doing this project?
    • How did you make your project?
    • Did anything not go as you originally planned? If so, how did you work through that and were you happy with how things ended up?
    • You will also be asked if this project is one of the two you want conference judged via Zoom.
  • Static exhibit Zoom conference judging is tentatively scheduled for August 3 – 7. All Zoom conference judging times will be offered by project area on a first come, first serve sign up format.

  • Premiums will be the following:
    • Static Projects: $5.00 participation premium with a maximum premium of $25.00 per 4-H'er.
    • Livestock Projects: $5.00 participation premium with a maximum premium of $25.00 per 4-H'er.
    • Club Projects: $10 participation premium with a maximum premium of $20.00 per club.

Reminders…

·Project age divisions are based on grade completed as of summer 2020.

·Each exhibit/animal needs to be entered either online using FairEntry or by submitting a paper entry form to the Extension Office by July 15th to avoid late registration. Late registrations can still exhibit at the showcase events; however, will result in no ribbon placing higher than a blue and projects are not eligible for state trips.

·Reference the Premium Book for helpful exhibit suggestions listed under each project area.

·4-H members may bring up to six different exhibits per static (non-livestock) project area unless otherwise stated. The only exception is Cloverbuds who may bring up to eight static exhibits, plus any animal exhibits and participate in any other events held prior to showcase judging (Favorite Food Show, Demonstrations, Performing Arts, and Fashion Revue).

·When bringing multiple exhibits in the same project area, please remember to register one time for each different project you plan to exhibit. In other words, if you plan to bring six separate flower gardening projects, please make sure to register for a flower gardening project six separate times on your fair registration.

DEADLINES!

All registrations must be complete by July 15th!

If you are registering online using FairEntry, you will have until 11:59 p.m. on July 15th to complete your registration online.

If you are submitting a paper entry form, it must be turned in to the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. on July 15th or postmarked by July 15th!
